Annual Ceremonies
- Memorial Day is commemorated each year on the last Monday in May. In 2021, Memorial Day will on Monday, May 31st.
- Veterans Day is commemorated on November 11th of each year. The Texas State Veterans Cemeteries host flag placement ceremonies prior to each Veterans Day.
- Holiday wreath laying ceremonies are held at each location during the Christmas holiday season.
Local Ceremonies
Several local ceremonies are held at each Texas State Veterans Cemetery throughout the year. Examples include:
- The Boy Scouts of America hold flag retirement/destruction ceremonies to dispose of unserviceable U.S. flags.
- Vietnam Veterans Day ceremonies.
- Various Veteran motorcycle groups hold “ride for freedom” drive-throughs.

Event Requests
Events commemorating military service can be held upon request. The requested event must be appropriate for the hallowed grounds and cannot interfere with normal interment operations. An event request form must be completed and approved to ensure appropriateness and to provide the necessary cemetery staff support.
